OK, you discovered a wrinkle on your forehead or a gray hair, no reason to panic. EEEK! Yes, you just turned 30 but in today's day, 30 is the new 20. It's one of the best phases in life. You've blossomed into a better, more mature, more polished version of yourself. But with all of that came laugh lines, frown lines, and a few wrinkles in between. It's also time to make sure you start taking care of your skin and change up your beauty routine. You've already done the edgy haircut, bold lip liner, and over-plucked eyebrows. Now it's time to get serious about your long-term health and beauty goals. By now, you generally know what works for you and what doesn't but it's always easy to get stuck in a rut. We've rounded up the top tips on how to keep your makeup looking fresh and modern.
  • Wear Sunscreen Daily. No, but really. Every day. The sun is the number one cause of aging. Wearing a vitamin-C serum under sunscreen is great as an added layer of protection.

  • Moisturize. Moisturize your neck like you would your face. Have fun with serums. You'll notice smoother skin, reduced breakouts, reduced scarring, and fewer dry patches.

    • Try this: Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Famboos Glycolic Night Serum (Shop Now)
  • Red Lipstick. Find your shade. As an adult, you graduated from the sparkly lip glosses and it's time (if you haven't already) to find the perfect red lipstick that works for you.

    • Try this: MAC Little Lipstick, Ruby Woo (Shop Now)
  • Makeup Brushes. Invest in the right, high-quality brushes and clean them *at least* once a month. Really once a week but if that's too daunting, make sure it's in your monthly routine.
  • Water. Keep all alcohol intake to a minimum. Remember, every drink will show on your face. You want to make sure to keep hydrated. For every caffeinated or alcoholic beverage, remember that adds another water you need to drink for the day, otherwise you will look puffy, dry and overall bleh. In fact, now would be a good time to go refill your water bottle.

  • Creams. Remember what we said about moisturizer? Nighttime is a great time to let your skin soak up the serious stuff like eye cream.
    • Try this: Elizabeth Arden Prevage Anti-Aging Eye Serum (Shop Now)
    • Try this: Nars Restorative Night Treatment (Shop Now
  • Cleanse. Always wash your face before bed. At the very least, wipe down your face with a cleansing wipe. If you don't, it can settle into your pores and make them look bigger as time goes on.
    • Try this: Bioderma Hydrabio H2O (Shop Now)
    • Try this: Pond's Wet Cleansing Towelettes (Shop Now)
  • Sparkles. It was cute when you were younger. You're more mature now, that means the sparkly stuff you used to love will settle around your fine lines and enhance and define your wrinkles. We recommend avoiding sparkles and only use when absolutely necessary.
  • Embrace it. Yes, we always want to look our best, when it comes down to it, there's really nothing you can do about aging; it just happens. So embrace it!
